Daily Deviation, 2008-04-06

Daily DeviationArcane of the Fallen by *ForlornExistence reminded me of a legend of old, of when angels came down to earth, and could not restrain their passion from daughters of men. One of such daughters was Istehar who tricked the angel and obtained the means to raise herself into heaven, without surrendering herself to the angel, and she was put in the constellation of the Pleiades by God. This is a beautifully executed work, using the techniques of the old masters, and combining them with the modern day approach to the art. It is well thought through, and the details just add to the story that unfolds in the viewers mind. The work of *ForlornExistence is most special, his gallery is full of masterpieces that defenitely deserve more detailed look. (Featured by `sbaraci)

that silverish cloth she is writing on is really immaculate. all your treatments of fabric seem very mastered. great work on all of this.

incredible vivid red there.

It seems that in a lot of your pieces, the figures and the backgrounds are too.. separate from each other. Almost as if you've painted on top of a photo.
See in this one the structure is at an angle that contradicts the figures in the foreground. The statue on our right looks stylistic but the the one on the left looks photorealistic and contrasts so much from its background that it actually distracts from the figures

Just an observation. Hope it helps

yes i know what your talking about DeathChalupa. Actually that painting was being murdered 3 years ago by many "critics" here on the web. But i took that as a constructive criticism. I only got the chance to finished that painting within the short period of two weeks considering the size because of a deadline. but i will not make anymore excuses regarding that piece of trash. I know there is a lot to improve regarding the composition and color harmony of it. Thanks for your keen observation,i will try harder next time!

I love this. The very idea of someone writing and another whispering over their shoulder is intriguing to me. What I enjoy about your art is the story it tells. xox -M-
